Admissions Policy
Takshashila seeks candidates who are deeply committed to transforming India for the better by engaging in public affairs. It welcomes applicants from any discipline, geographical location occupation or age group.
Eligibility
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline. While the course is not maths-intensive, 10th standard (or equivalent) level of mathematical skills is necessary. The course will be conducted and assessed in English.
Full-time undergraduate students are welcome to apply for junior studentship. A few places have been set aside to encourage and prepare younger people to take an active interest in public affairs.
Fees
Application Fee: Rs 500
Normal course fee for 2012: Rs 25,000
Special discounted course fee for Jan 2012 pilot intake: Rs 15,000
(inclusive of taxes)
Students with means are welcome to contribute to the Financial Support Fund to enable deserving students to benefit from the programme.
Financial Support
Full-time students who have no other source of income, and others who can add value to the class but are unable to afford the fees at this time may apply for financial support.
Application Process
The January 2012 pilot intake course commences on 9th January 2012.
To apply, fill in the online application form (recommended) or download, complete and mail us this prospectus-cum-application form (PDF). The completed application form with supporting documents (if any) and a bank draft/cheque for Rs 500 (in favour of THE TAKSHASHILA INSTITUTION, preferably drawn on the Mahalingapuram, Chennai Branch of the State Bank of India) should reach us by 7th November 2011.
